UNPRECEDENTED: Obama Forces Insurance Industry to Withhold 2015 Prices Until After Election
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 11/3/14 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 11/03/2014 8:44:30 PM PST by Nachum

For the first time in modern history, the Obama administration has forced insurance companies to withhold 2015 prices until after the election. So he can shield Democrats.

In the past, new prices were announced 60 days before the first day of the year. Not this year. Warner Todd Huston reported:

Barack Obama is again playing political games with our health insurance industry and has turned in another underhanded move against it by forcing insurance carriers, brokers and agents to withhold their 2015 prices until after the 2014 midterm elections are over all so that the news of higher prices won’t hurt Democrats on Election Day.

This means that customers looking to get new insurance or those wishing to scout new policies to see if they can get a better deal are not able to shop for insurance.

Before we get into that, though, millions of new cancellations will be hitting on January 1, 2015. Much of this news has gone under the radar as Democrats and their lapdog media are keeping this as quiet as possible.

Our Health Insurance costs have risen 50% since December 2013.

12/13 - $1,200 a Month (including Dental and Vision)

01/15 - $1,800 a Month (including Dental and Vision)

We’re going to hear soon about a czar in charge of, uh, you know— who lives and dies.
“Ah, comrade! You’re looking mighty skinny and puny. Unfortunately the panel rules against you and in favor of the greater good. May you rest in peace.”

We have the premium and deductible numbers from all 3 plans we can choose from. They are all double-plus premiums from 2014 rates, and the deductibles vary.

I am prescribed HGH because a brain tumor destroyed my pituitary gland. I CANNOT get pricing for the drug, coverage allowances for the drug, nor copays for the drug.

It’s a huge difference between $500 a month and anything else for the cost of Norditropin.

I’ve been on the phone for a week with United, Aetna and Blue Cross Care First, and am promised information, but we’re looking at total annual payments of $12,000 - $17,000 for otherwise healthy man and wife.

I am so mad I could spit.

A shining example of fascism. Big government and big business. Hand in hand. Decisions driven by political scheming and not financial logic. What could go wrongs?

As I mentioned on the Rush Show thread yesterday I got my “letter” yesterday. My $11k deductible $335/mo for my family of 4 is upped $77 to $412/mo.

I’m conjecturing here but perhaps the industry is regretting the 0bummercare closed door hope and dreams of riches meetings...so they’re sending out some letters hoping to get voters to wake up?

I didn’t need to wake up...about 6 yrs into Bush, I saw the socialism path we were on...now communism.

I got off easy this year, with only about an 8% increase, but the really big increases came in the first few years after Obolacare was passed, which forced me twice to move into lower priced plans.

If I had stayed where I was, my rate increase from 2010 to 2015 would have been about 800%.

“I don’t understand this forced thing. How is he going to “force” them to do anything...”

Apparently, if an insurer wanted to “test” the website, which I guess includes discerning the new rates, they had to sign a confidentiality agreement. No sign, no rates.

If memory serves me correctly, it seems to me in 2010 my company's insurance carrier at that time, and maybe industry wide, delayed our yearly selection of plans until AFTER the election. The health care insurance industry was and still is so in bed with these fascists, it reeks to high heaven. I have two questions. One, how did we go from 30 million (debatable) uninsured who needed government's help to 350 million (more if you count ILLEGAL immigrants)? Second, why did the absolutely spineless so called Representatives not DEMAND that the law be executed as written and all these waivers and postponements be nullified so the real costs are determined? I also think that health care costs should be announced in August of September of every year and the new levels start in October, just like the Federal government's budget. After all, it is a FEDERAL PROGRAM.

So if they broke the confidentiality agreement they couldn’t be sued since there would be no damages.

We were paying $1k a month before Obamacare. It has been going up ever since. In the last couple of days we have gotten notice that hubby’s premiums and mine are both going up an extra $4k a year. We are up to $1400 per mnth now for 2 realatively healthy seniors.
