Thanks. I’d bet the immigrant problem, if it affects the VA election, will be with the ‘dreamers.’ The young folks seem to have more interest in the US political process. The older ones are too busy working to get involved. At least that’s what I’ve observed.
On one of the election threads someone mentioned the inability to track electronic votes. At least with the new system in effect in Fairfax County, it’s ALL paper ballots fed into an electronic reader. BUT the paper ballots are preserved and packed into a security sealed box before being returned from the individual precincts to the county electoral board office.
So, if there’s an actual canvass in Fairfax, they can check every last ballot cast. I read that it will all come down to Fairfax. I think that has more to do with its being the most populous county. However, if a recount in Fairfax is needed, it will be a simple enough thing to do (time consuming but simple). And, hopefully, one of the cross-checkers will detect any of those double voters.
