So it doesn't much matter if he doesn't say anything, or if he said something 5 years ago in a completely different context, he is gonna get slammed for it. All this from other 'christians' (not sure if you claim that title or not, but plenty of other commentors on this thread do, as I understand it).
Jesus has this opponent in the bible, called 'the accuser of the brethren'. Seems to me a lot of people are on his side...and proud to be there. And I just don't get it.
Jimmy Swaggart. Remember when he fell, and fell hard. I thought a lot about that. Had I been God, one well-timed car accident (when he didn't have an 'escort') would have 'saved' both Jimmy and God's reputation. But God didn't care. God let the world (and, many 'christians') drag His name thru the mud, just to redeem one Jimmy Swaggart. I don't know exactly what happened to Jimmy, but what God did there still amazes...humbles...me. What He will allow 'his men' to do to 'His Name'...because God loves them more than His own 'reputation'.
Jimmy’s ministry has grown and started the SOL Network. His son Donnie and Grandson Gabriel preaches. Jimmy still preaches but not as much. I can see his ministry has been blessed. Remember even the greatest men in the bible were not perfect.
That also goes for Jim Bakker.
Now as for Osteen, his father really preached the word of God. I doubt his father would preach the way his son is doing.
