West Virginia really surprised me, not only did they turn the entire congressional delegation Republican and send Shelly Moore-Capito to the senate (leaving poor lonely Joe Manchin as the ONLY WV democrat in a federal office), but WV also elected a Republican State house, for the first time since 1930...and not by a slender margin, 63-36 at current count, they also went took a 17/17 tie in the State Senate, which nobody was predicting, giving them essentially ideological control of the Senate considering their a few conservative democrat State Senators that will vote with the Republicans or might switch parties altogether.

In your opinion will Manchin himself switch to (R)?

West Virginia really surprised me,

I was only surprised by how quickly it happened. We've been moving slowly toward over conservatism and Republican Party representation for years ... but it just kind of blew up this year.

Earl Ray Tomblin is probably sitting in the governor's mansion drinking moonshine and worried about what the new legislature is going to dump on his desk. Embrace the Suck, Earl Ray!

I read elsewhere that a WV state senator had switched to R, giving them the majority.

Right. When something like this happens in a state, the conservative Dem politicians see the writing on the wall. Some will vote with the GOP and become DINOs and some may outright switch. I wouldn't be surprised to see a switch so that the GOP has outright control of the W VA Senate.
