Liberal Civil War Begins: Harry Reid Slams Obama, HuffPo Headline Destroys

Shortly after Republicans officially clenched the majority in the Senate last night, chief-of-staff for outgoing Majority Leader Harry Reid sent direct shots across the left bow at the White House for major losses and revealed how Democrats got this point of incredible defeat. From The Washington Post

At a March 4 Oval Office meeting, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and other Senate leaders pleaded with Obama to transfer millions in party funds and to also help raise money for an outside group. “We were never going to get on the same page,” said David Krone, Reid’s chief of staff. “We were beating our heads against the wall.”

The tension represented something more fundamental than money — it was indicative of a wider resentment among Democrats in the Capitol of how the president was approaching the election and how, they felt, he was dragging them down. All year on the trail, Democratic incumbents would be pounded for administration blunders beyond their control — the disastrous rollout of the health-care law, problems at the Department of Veterans Affairs, undocumented children flooding across the border, Islamic State terrorism and fears about Ebola.

Yikes. Until this point, Reid has been a key player in halting debate about President Obama's agenda. For years Reid has stopped hundreds of pieces of legislation passed by the House from ever seeing a vote or discussion in the Senate. Now with a Republican Senate and two years of Obama's presidency remaining, those efforts may have gone to waste.

Meanwhile, although President Obama and the White House have argued for months the 2014 midterms are not a referendum on his policies or messaging strategy, liberal media outlets aren't buying it.

President Obama will hold a press conference about the election today at 2:50 pm from the White House. On Friday he will meet with a bipartisan group of lawmakers about how to move forward.

They felt Obama was dragging them down?

It certainly didn’t stop them from acting like mobsters and joining with him in screwing the country day after day.

Before the election, Harry was blaming everything bad under the sun on the Koch brothers. So it’s a welcome change if he’s decided to turn his wrath on Obama instead.

Gee! Now that Harry Reid won’t be ‘boss’ anymore, ya think he’ll get so nasty as to ‘attempt a Roman senatorial response’ to good ol’ Queer-In_Charge?

Obama's legislative agenda wasn't just "their agenda also" ... in some cases it was their agenda, PERIOD.

ObamaCare is a case in point. That should have been called PelosiReidCare, because it sure wasn't Obama's idea. It was crafted by the Democrat-controlled Congress, and Obama would have signed it into law no matter what idiotic provisions it contained. It's pathetic for these Democrats to run around blaming Obama for their losses.

It is true that political winds had a lot to do with yesterday's election results, and it's true that the Republicans were in a good position to win seats in the U.S. Senate simply because the Democrats had a lot more seats to defend. But that doesn't explain how we had Republican candidates win governor's races in communist states like Illinois, Massachusetts and Maryland.

It’s taken six long years for the Rats to hit the brick wall they started to build in 2008.

The GOP is always being warned about not reading too much into an election.

In 2008, the Rats read way too much into Obama’s election. They viewed it as a mandate for far left policies, rather than a popularity contest.

So they proceeded apace to institute the liberal policies they only dreamed about for decades. The 2010 backlash slowed down their agenda, but they still didn’t get the message.

In 2012, enough people still clung on to the hope and change mantra of the Celebrity-In-Chief. To quote Donna Brazile, they weren’t going to let the “white guy” win. Romney wasn’t too inspiring, either.

Finally, Rats have to face the fact that we don’t want those far left policies. In fact, we never wanted them. We (in general) just wanted a “cool”, black man to be POTUS.

When the cool, black man is useless and gone, what is left of the Rats? They haven’t had a true political leader in almost a decade.

I can’t think of a more apt description than, they’ve been hoisted on their own petard”.

It is my understanding that Obama raises money to support his own PAC. I know for certain that many democrats have complained that Obama comes to town, sucks the big donors dry, then keeps it for himself.

I do not know if, or in what manner, he distributes those funds, but I do not hear much about him spreading the money around.

That, I believe, is part of Reid’s issue.

Your other two paragraphs are spot on.

Don’t think this narcisist cares whether anyone wins or loses but him? He’s treated like royalty no matter what happens. There will always be sycophants.
