I have a small bet with a friend that Ferguson is about to hurtle down the memory hole. It has to be tough to be a professional agitator when The Cause is no longer expedient. There isn’t anyone out there to send you a layoff notice.
I hope and pray you are correct and the citizens of Ferguson can go back to doing their business. In the past few years there have been some inroads into gentrification/re-gentrification: new restaurants that are decent lunch/happy hour choices for surrounding businesses (There’s a mini district of these), one of the better farmer’s markets which shut down for the year early due to patrons being harassed by protesters, family events in the local parks and a stop on the food truck tours of town. It’s like they took a step forward and were shoved ten steps back.
