Regrettably, Zeldin will be the only Jewish Republican in the incoming Congress, to the best of my knowledge. That's an improvement over the lame duck Congress, which had none after Eric Cantor's resignation earlier this year. (This marks the first time in many years that there are no Jewish Republicans in Congress.)
Regrettably as well, Zeldin carries a reputation of being a RINO, based on his voting record in the New York state legislature.
But there are many mon-Jewish Republicans in Congress who share a similar ideology and values with Jewish Republicans in general, especially with respect to Israel and the Middle East.
BTW, zeestephen, the author of this posted article is a female.
Is there any sort of sign how moderate Elise Stefanik and John Katko will be? I’m trying to guage which way ideologically the House caucus is swinging. It seems to have ticked right, but I have no idea what these candidate from New York are about.
You understand ‘Congress’ includes the Senate? Two percent of 535 is how many?
Yep, they all seem to be libs.
Re: “The author is female.”
Sorry - I thought Shari was a shortened Israeli male name.
I don't agree. Zeldin voted against the "Marriage Equality Act", the SAFE Act (gun grab) and the NY Dream Act (illegals). He also was Army Intelligence, served in the 82nd Airborne in Iraq, and entered the reserves with the rank of Major. If that's a RINO, then I need to reconsider the term.
