The oppression will continue and grow into open despotism unless and until presidents, senators, and especially federal judges know that state legislatures can boot them from office.
Yes, as long as the anti-big-government parts of the passed amendments are enforced. Government has a nasty habit of wiggling out of anti-government clauses amendments like the Tenth Amendment. Government doesn’t like to limit itself. Bad for officials’ and bureaucrats’ paychecks.
