To: SoConPubbie; All

Someone please explain to me where the ability to tax sales is in the Constitution. The 16th Amendment is limited to taxation on income. The estate/gift tax is a transfer tax on the shifting of property. What authority is there for a federal sales tax.

You never want to get in the way between the politicians and new taxes.

You would have better luck explaining to lions why eating humans is not allowed in the Constitution.
