My husband and I played EXCELLENT golf together. HE would hit the ball 250 yards (average) or more down the CENTER of the fairway and would be annoyed if he missed the center by a HAIR'S BREATH.
I, on the other hand, hit the ball also down the CENTER of the fairway, but only 120 yards, on a good day. We would both play DOWN the center, together, with me always a bit behind.
I always played MUCH better with him, as I only saw fabulous shots from him. I just did better. When I played with another hacker....dim bulb arose out of my drives, chips AND putts.
Sigh. He's gone now. I haven't played since but I intend to very soon.
