A pair of Republican senators reiterated their call for President Obama's new nominee for attorney general, Loretta Lynch, to be taken up in the next Congress, rather than the lame-duck session.
Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) have previously said they will oppose non-emergency business taken up when lawmakers return following Tuesday's election.
"President Obama’s Attorney General nominee deserves fair and full consideration of the United States Senate, which is precisely why she should not be confirmed in the lame duck session of Congress by senators who just lost their seats and are no longer accountable to the voters," the lawmakers said in a statement.
The two suggested, however, they could oppose Lynch's nomination regardless of the timing based on her position on Obama's forthcoming executive action on immigration. They said an attorney general must have a "full and complete commitment to the law."
"Loretta Lynch deserves the opportunity to demonstrate those qualities, beginning with a statement whether or not she believes the President’s executive amnesty plans are constitutional and legal," they said.
Republicans are slated to take control of the upper chamber when the new session begins in January. However, lawmakers will return for the final few months of businesses of the current session next week. Democrats have not yet outlined the timing for Lynch's confirmation.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has also said the nomination should be handled in the next Congress.
A host of other nominations, a spending bill, and other legislation are already expected to be taken up in the lame duck.

I think Reid’s nuclear option was aimed at DC Circuit Judges and not cabinet appointments so yes I think Cruz & Lee can filibuster her appointment.
Thank God we have Cruz and Lee.
The next GOP POTUS needs to add six new rabid Right Wing Justices to the SCOTUS to bring the total number of “Justices” to 15.
Then pass all manner of laws designed to prevent the communist democrats from controlling any branch of FEDGOV ever again.
Step one is to make all states right to work, withholding of union dues from paychecks will be illegal.
Step two is to institute a National Voter ID card to be issued down at the local joint Social Security/CBP office. No card, no vote. When you do, one of two things will happen. You either get a card, or are deported/jailed. All you illegals and felons be sure to come on down. Mandate standardized tamper proof voting machines.
Step three is to outlaw all Federal and State Local government employee unions.
Step 4 is to investigate, indict, and imprison 90% of the Congressional Progressive caucus along with Hussein Administration officials like Holder and apparatchiks like Lois Lerner and purge the Federal Judiciary.
Step 5 is to subject communists in the press to the same treatment.
That’s a good start.
We need to have the GOPe Senators stand by our men.

Can you tell me where you are finding that information? I have heard from another source that one of Reid’s aids said that he will not be supporting Obama in some other items but I can’t find confirmation anywhere.
My copy of the Constitution doesn't include national IDs in Article 1, Section 8.
How about sticking with the Constitution.

SS card does nOT have a picture on it. How do you get on a plane?? Or cash a check....or go into the Capitol??? Or get into the Democrat CONVENTION??? HELLO...a PICTURE ID!!
They also need to ask her about the things Holder has done and whether or not he should be prosecuted.
That’s all fine, but in the meantime Cruz and Lee need to point to her opposition to VoterID (like Holder’s) as reason to decline her. The people just voted FOR VoterID.
So they need to shoot her down NOW.

There isn’t even a right to vote in the Constitution and that was done on purpose.
National Voter ID card doesn’t prevent the States from running elections, just makes sure illegal aliens and felons aren’t voting.
The majority of the 15 members of the newly comprised SCOTUS won’t have a problem with it.

Let the DIMS force her confirmation through in the lame duck session with all Republicans abstaining. Then Obama and the DIMS own her lock, stock, and barrel.
Waiting until the new Congress convenes allows the DIMS and the MSM to paint any GOP resistance to the nomination as racism.

They are marxists and are attempting to alter the demographic to effect a permanent majority and steal our money.
