U.S. President Barack Obama defended his plan to use executive powers to implement some immigration reforms, saying in an interview broadcast on Sunday he had waited long enough for Congress to act.

Obama told congressional leaders on Friday he would try to ease some restrictions on undocumented immigrants, despite warnings from Republican leaders that such actions would "poison the well" or would be "a red flag in front of a bull".

"We don't have the capacity to deport 11 million people -- everybody agrees on that," he said.

I have doubts if you could do Operation Wetback in today’s politically correct world.

This action would be unconstitutional.

The Dems had two years to pass any immigration bill they wanted. They passed Obamacare without a single GOP vote.

Excellent point. Obama and Democrats controlled the White House, House, and Senate for Obama’s first two years.

Why is it somehow the fault of the GOP, that they chose to squander that majority to push Obamacare? Why didn’t they push other priorities such as immigration, if this is such an important issue?

******** You’re probably right about that but...Reid is not a happy camper right now. The election was a disaster for him and he seems very angry at Obama. Who knows what Reid will do under the present circumstances?

Reid hates you and me much more than he hates Obama.

The House can ready a plan for January, when the new Congress is seated. The problem is, we won’t like the plan.

Hell no. Now they “invite” the illegals to check-in with the INS and give them plenty of time to make a run for it before they even begin to think about sending the dogs out.

Unfortunately perception can be reality. So the GOP should get out in front of it and change the optics and politics.

Create a House and Senate bill for January 2015 which includes:

Immediate border security
Implementation of E-verify
Prosecution of non compliant employers
(A path to a green card will be debated later, if at all)

These three items are simple, widely supported examples of existing law.

Then, develop a publicity campaign around the January bill so everyone knows what is coming. Have a website where citizens can login and vote for it.

Include a provision where all funding for any Obama generated initiative will be cut off immediately. If they won’t impeach him, this will at least put Obama (and many Republicans) on notice what the consequences are, and memorialize the sentiment against them and amnesty.

The House already has 300+ bills setting on Reid’s desk.

We don't have the capacity to deport 11 million people -- everybody agrees on that," he said.

1. It's 40 MILLION

2. Saying we don't have the capacity to deport millions sounds a lot like "the science is settled".

In the article Obama claims not having an immigration reform makes it harder to deport those illegals that are criminals... What does that mean? What kind of bizarro country do we live in? There are laws on the books to deport anyone here illegally, just enforce the law!

I think creating a self deport environment is the easy, but magic answer. Secure the border, take away the jobs and welfare, and they will leave on their own.

I’m not a lawyer but is there the possibility of a restraining order to prevent this?

Eisenhower wouldn't if he were alive today.

This is what we get for electing an affirmative action president with forged credentials, schooled in Islam in his youth, tutored in his teen years by a revolutionary Marxist and convicted pedophile, an adoring student of a black supremacy cult in adulthood, whose political career was kick started by a violent extremist with Final Solution ambitions for tens of millions of us, and whose administration features suspiciously large numbers of covert jihadists, race warriors and other deranged extremists.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Mexico’s Attorney General Marisela Morales wanting to sue Obama for “Fast and Furious” and possibly reveal that high level officials were involved with it.

We should use all public buses of any type to transport them all back across the border. Pay for it by the savings from stopping welfare of any kind to non citizens. We could also get rid of the liberals who complain by giving them a seat on the bus if they don’t shut up. I am sick to death of the PC crap.

Remove all welfare and tax rebates, revoke their 0bama phones, and penalize employeers who hire illegals.

The illegals will figure out what is their best option, and go home
