Rick Perry: America's Next President Will Not Be a Senator
breitbart ^ | Nov. 9, 2014 | Adelle Nazarian

LOS ANGELES, California—In an exclusive interview at Breitbart News Network's headquarters, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said President Barack Obama would cement a legacy of being the worst president in American history if he moves forward on executive amnesty.

"I don't think this man wants to go down as the absolute worst president in the United States — although the jury is still out on that," Perry said, adding that if Obama moves forward on executive amnesty "he will be guaranteed that slot. Because the American people will not accept an executive order that basically takes our constitution and throws it out the window. They will not accept that."

Perry, considering a repeat presidential bid in 2016, had just spoken at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of Reagan's famous "A Time For Choosing" speech. Among his scalding criticisms of Obama, Perry explained the president's failings as due to his background as a U.S. senator – something that happens to apply to several of his would-be challengers for the GOP presidential nomination.

“Jeff Sessions is best qualified or Majority Leader, anyway.”

I would like to see Senator sessions as Majority Leader and Congressman louie Gohmert as Speaker of the House. And in two years, President Cruz.

Hopefully the NEXT President will have actual LEADERSHIP abilities

America has NO need for another popularity contest which has produced "$hit and shoved in it" for the American people.

He’s not...although, from what I’ve seen, he does well in interviews with the MSM because he’s savvy and doesn’t fall into the “gotcha” games they like to play with Republicans.

Still, obvious competence might not be enough in our celebrity-obsessed society.

Our best Presidents have been executives, not policymakers

Sounds like he is worried about Ted Cruz being a candidate.

Like Bob Bullock, or Allan Shivers, Governor back in the ‘50s, who supported IKE. Basically a business-oriented Democrat.

One Junior Senator moving into the White House is quite enough for this century.

We need someone with EXECUTIVE experience--Governor, captain of industry, or military.

I simply cannot comprehend how many on the right are fawning the charismatic Ted Cruz EXACTLY like the left fawned over the charismatic BHØ.

Perry has had a lot of experience in government since he was elected to the Texas house about 25 years ago. He has done pretty well as governor, and has accumulated a lot of power in an office that is constitutionally weak, So better than average politician. But I think he has blown his chance to be President.

You should compare Ted Cruz's job experience prior to being elected a Senator to Obama's.

One has a career's worth of meaningful experience; the other has none.

Perry will be out of office in less than two months and that, um, crippled guy Abbott takes over as Governor. It is at that time when Perry will jack his jaws about Obola’s actions. That way he won’t have to respond with real action, only rhetoric. Abbott prolly has more stones than Perry anyway.

Another Governor (Scott Walker just did the same) makes a self-serving comment.
