Obama Says He'll Use Executive Orders For Immigration Reform
NPR ^ | November 9, 2014 | by Sam Sanders

President Obama said once again that he won't wait on Congress to start making changes to America's immigration system. In an appearance Sunday on CBS' Face The Nation, Obama stood by his recent statements that he'll use executive action to enact changes before the end of the year, but told host Bob Schieffer that he still wants Congress to act on the issue, too.

Everyone agrees, Obama said, that the U.S. doesn't have the capacity to deport 11 million people.

How about Amtrak? I’m sure they have a lot of unused capacity in their passenger cars.

If Boehner allows one penny of funding for this dictatorial move on Obama’s agenda, Boehner should lose his Speaker’s post.

That sentence was too long. By removing some extraneous language, I have cut it down to a mere 6 words, without substantively changing its meaning:

Boehner should lose his Speaker’s post.

The amusing thing is that if there were to be a full on amnesty, we’d see numbers of registrants well in excess of 11 million.

I think we’d see numbers that would truly shock and scare a lot of people, particularly those who aren’t paying attention.

Some say Republicans have a 100-year majority.

That kind of hubris virtually guarantees defeat. Some party wants a long-lasting majority? Do what they were elected to do, and keep doing it, PERIOD.

The fairest way to deal with illegals is to make all benefits illegal for them. No more EITC, soc. sec. benefits, ability to work in this country, only emergency medical service, everything else we give them, all gone. Then they will do the “fair” thing, return to their own country.

I don’t care if they’ve been working here since the last amnesty in 1986. There are American citizens without jobs. They come first. I don’t care if their parents brought them here and this country is all they’ve known. They take opportunities from citizens of this country. Their is nothing “fair” about that.

Every single person who sneaks across our border or misuses/overstays a visa is a law breaker. If we are to continue to be a nation of law abiding citizens, we must start punishing those who feel they can break our laws with impunity.

After the border is closed and we deal with getting the law breakers returned to their home countries, then we can discuss any adjustments to immigration.

If Obama chooses to play the role of black thug - the ‘drubbing’ Democrats received this time will be nothing compared to next time.

"At that rate, transporting 11 million illegals would take them a little more than 4 days."

When I was a kid growing up in W. Tennessee I would occasionally accompany my grandfather to the Post Office. And I could never help but marvel at the official poster on the wall that declared there was a $15,000 penalty and serious federal prison time for swiping or damaging the pencil that was left there for public use.

You'd better believe that pencil got all my attention.

Fine every employer $100,000 per day for using illegal labor and they'll self-deport so fast that you'll get dizzy just watching them.

No help from greyhound needed.

Shut the border and tax money exporting operations and they will all go one.

Good point.

But neither the democrats, nor the republicrats (aka the party of the Chamber of Commerce) will get on board with that idea.
