I hate to sathis but Obama is right on this one. And this is not new regulation, it’s the current rule, established long before Obama was president. The internet providers are pushing to make you pay more to get the services you want.

One of the reasons is Streaming Video. Netflix during primetime alone eats up 33% of the bandwidth and pays nothing extra, just piggybacks on the ISP’s.

So you want streaming then you may have to pay for it. The ISP’s can't absorb all those costs and that is what the debate is. So you want fast speed then we all pay $100 a month or more for it.

As a pretty hard and fast rule, I believe that anything that Obama pushes is wrong. However, The Electronic Frontier Foundation is in favor. See https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2014/11/white-house-gets-it-net-neutrality-will-fcc-0

The Internet providers are pushing to get you to pay more for services delivered over the networks they built.

Fixed it for you.
