Radio Shack, here I come. What a nice thank you to some out here who have served to protect "their" right to try to infringe on ours. Pretty spiffy. Uh, no thanks. As far as controlling the sale of guns, just take a gander at I594 in Washington.
Thanks to all the vets that are on FR.

What could go wrong? I’m sure that it would never be hacked. Not.

Boffin ? Brit-speak for "smart guy" or "nerd" depending on context.

Gee, what could possibly go wrong?
Later… Oh no, our front-lines have been designated no-fire zones!

the scheme proposes a private key encoding what the gun and its user are allowed to do Another band of utopian morons who haven't the slightest notion of what the Second Amendment is about.

Pie in the sky scheme that will never work, especially with mountains of legacy guns circulating.
Note the "central authority" at the center of the graphic, indicating the typical totalitarian mindset of liberal academics.

What if, instead of trying to control the sale of guns....weapon use were enforced by a complex combination of electronics, WiFi communications and policy enforcement And imagine me swinging a baseball bat that is out of reach of the interwebs, not to mention my non-wifi enabled knife.

LOL! Yeah, I did notice the “central authority”. That’s rich. This will affect the bad guys how?
Thanks Vets.

To: rktman
Requiring that firearms have this disabling feature would be infringing on my right to keep and bear arms. A weapon that doesn’t function is just a club, and that is an infringement. I would disable this feature if compelled to purchase a weapon with such a destructive feature, and I would expect home invaders to hack the feature for those stupid enough to buy a weapon that is unreliable by design. They will wirelessly designate a home as a “no firearms zone”, then enter with firearms that have that feature disabled, and the homeowner is out of luck. No, thank you.

Brilliant people imagine a scheme that works perfectly on paper, but is thwarted by a single antique weapon, like a pistol originally designed in 1911.
To: rktman
Now all they have to do is retrofit about 300 million weapons in the US alone.....

We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that weve set. Weve got to have a civilian national security force thats just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. Barack Hussein Obama, 7/2/2008
They dont call it a Civil Defense force, that would imply we need (or perhaps that we deserve) defense. The official name is National Civilian Community Corps.
I think of it as the NatCCC, or more simply, as the NatCs...
