If I were a member of a union, not sure I would be thrilled to hear that the union supports amnesty. Cheap labor = unemployment line for union workers. But, this is another case of Democrats depending on the stupidity of Americans, I guess.

My sister-in-law is a Maine state employee and her union is somehow aligned with SEIU. She even has a purple t-shirt. She believes that all of her dues are going into investments for her future benefits (i.e. retirement). She should be scared sh##less that her wonderful unions are selling her and others down the road.

“I find it hard to believe the rank and file in any union are happy about this.”

I’m sure they aren’t. The SEIU is a cancer on legitimate labor unions (or is that an oxymoron?).

Do we really want 500 million or more people living in the USA?

Too many politicians on the Democrat and Republican side of aisle believe they can fix the Social Security and Medicare mess by importing millions of new taxpaying people into the USA.

Sounds like a good idea but it does not work because we already have millions of people out of work and on disability, food stamps, and welfare because of Obama’s open borders.

Thats the theory. Have you seen signs of that happening? Because Bhoner and Mitch have been saying Amnesty and promising to return the power Reid stripped Republicans of since before the election and all I see are people on the right shocked that there is gambling going on in Rick’s place.

I have seen people repeating the “we can’t impeach” meme on threads every day. I have seen people saying all sorts of the same things that got us to where we are. But I don’t see any signs other than business as usual from the base here, in the media or in my own town.

Hell there ate people bitching that Cruz is causing a problem for ‘leadership’.

Then would it be called bullying that democrats are doing in taking away weapons from the border patrol?

Report:BP Agents will have to share rifles

Investigators have discovered that our Border Patrol agents are having their rifles taken from them, and are being forced to share weapons among each other. NBC news in Tucson reports:

"Bullying" ... really? Did their liberal brains stop maturing in high school? They are pathetically stuck on "stupid" and ought to grow up.

Oh no, you have them all wrong. They are liars. They lie to fit their agenda. They lie to each other, their spouses, their children, and especially to fellow democrips and their fellow Americans. You might say they don’t really know how to tell the truth. They are being natural democrats.

What doesn’t make sense is that amnesty will hurt American workers. The same workers that the Unions are supposed to be protecting. Then again, if millions of illegals are suddenly legal, union membership will grow.

Apparently the Unions really don’t care about American workers. They only care about power.

“Only illiterate illegals would join a corrupt Leftist union like SEIU. Anyone who can read is smart enough not to give this bunch of crooks a cut of their paycheck.”

unless they are forced to...

I never understood why some really rich guy that owns companies infiltrated with union scum never just wanted to get historic and launch an all out union busting campaign nationally.

It would be easy. Just type up lists of uncomfortable and unanswerable questions and include them with every union propaganda announcement distributed in his businesses. Fair is fair.

That might be unwise. Aren’t (weren’t) the Unions run by organized crime? :)

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

Given that Thomas Jefferson had noted that the Founding States had never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate immigration, I question the scope of the president’s power to pardon offenses against the United States where the unique, 10th Amendment-protected power of the states to regulate immigration is concerned.

More specifically, note that since the federal government has no express constitutional authority to legislatively address immigration, it is up to the states, not the feds, to legislatively define what illegal immigration is. So how can the president pardon illegal immigration under so-called federal immigration laws since the feds have no constitutional authority to define what illegal immigration is in the first place? Jefferson had declared federal immigration laws to be "void, and of no force."

“4. _Resolved_, That alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the State wherein they are: that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual States, distinct from their power over citizens. And it being true as a general principle, and one of the amendments to the Constitution having also declared, that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people,” the act of the Congress of the United States, passed on the — day of July, 1798, intituled “An Act concerning aliens,” which assumes powers over alien friends, not delegated by the Constitution, is not law, but is altogether void, and of no force [emphasis added].” —Thomas Jefferson, Draft of the Kentucky Resolutions - October 1798.

And it reasonably follows that since the individual states have the constitutional authority to define what illegal immigration is within their jurisdictions that only designated state officials, governors come to mind, would have the 10th Amendment-protected power to pardon offenses against 10th Amendment-protected state laws which define illegal immigration.

Insights welcome.
