Roberts: “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”

I can understand that, but it should be the job of the Courts to protect the people when criminal conduct is engaged in to pass laws. If the Courts refuse to protect the people in those circumstances, the Court's reason to exist is nullified.

Roberts should have sent this back to Congress for clarification.
Roberts knew there was a change of Republicans that would probably prevent this from going forward at that time.
My personal opinion was the President/Democrats had/have something on Roberts.
I don’t see how on such a big issue where deception was used that he didn’t send it back to fix itself in Congress, unless Roberts had another agenda for his own reasons.

Was he being and is he being blackmailed on that court?
Is Roberts maybe just a total jerk?
Will we ever know?

I am hoping the silence from the newly elected Republicans on this means they are looking at the legalities.
