Sen. Landrieu Pushes For Keystone Pipeline on Senate Floor: "I Believe It Is Time To Act" [Video]
RCP ^ | November 12th, 2014 | Senator Mary Landrieu

Posted on 11/12/2014 3:10:22 PM PST by Third Person

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) took to the Senate floor this afternoon to push for the Keystone XL pipeline.

"This has been a project that has lingered far too long," she said. "It is clearly supported by 60 or more members of this body. It is a piece of legislation that has been endorsed by the new Majority Leader, to-be Majority Leader, is a cosponsor and a leading cosponsor of the legislation."

"I believe it is time to act," Landrieu said. "I believe that we should take the new Majority Leader at his word and stop blocking legislation that is broadly supported by the American public and has been for quite some time. I want to say yes to new Majority Leader Mitch McCconnell. The time to start is now. The public has clearly spoken."

“Too late to become a Republican now.”

It is for Landrieu.

However it may not be for others and McConnell should be working hard on Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

The senate is now nothing more than a vaudeville theater.

Being a United States Senator must be better than being a Heroin addict. You just can't give it up.

Good observation.

I trust the voters of LA will not be gullible enough to fall for this stunt.

I wonder if this is what Lizzy "Pocahontas" Warren was talking about when she told Hollywood that "The game is rigged in Washington."

I am to understand that if Landrieu pimps for the pipeline somehow she will win the runoff.

Will someone explain this to me?

She needs to demand that Harry put it up for vote, then demand that Obama sign it. Then she needs to run around DC with an AK-47 strapped to her back and a Bible in her arm. If she does not spontaneously com bust, then she needs to take a rainbow flag and defecate on it. I still doubt she will get re-elected, but hey, why not try?

It’s sickening the way Baby Cheeks is running around telling everyone that she is a conservative American. She’s a disgrace.

This has got to be a satire piece.

It’s that, or Landrieu is pivoting so fast to the right, she’s gonna fall over from dizziness.

Windy, I happened to catch this live on CSPAN2 a little after 3:00 pm EST.

What a hoot!

Mary sounded quite contrary to her usual Dim self.

She sounded like a rock-ribbed Republican saying that it was time for a vote on this exceptionally needed pipeline. She said it doesn't matter whose name is on the bill, the pipeline is crucial for the creation of jobs and energy growth.

Then after my jaw dropped and I picked it up off the floor, she handed the pipeline love-fest over to Heidi Heitkamp(another Dim) of North Dakota for the win.

It was transparent--they had six years to get this voted on, but it is needed NOW!

Still is not going to be enough to save Mary no matter how contrary she acts.

McConnell said today that Cassidy will be given a seat on the Energy Committee, so LA will be represented if Mary L. is booted out on her very ample keister.
