I’m halfway into the first paragraph and already I’ve found a huge whopper. Food is not nearly the largest sector of our economy. Just consumers spend 2 1/2 times as much on housing and 1 1/2 times as much for transportation. And that’s not counting the commercial sector.

All it would take to improve wages for farm workers is to stop undercutting them with illegals—or the additional planned low-skill immigrant worker permits.

And yes, the writers are correct that there is a role for government in insuring better care for the animals in our food chain.

The government is still idiotically imposing “low fat” standards on the foods our kids eat in school.

Think about it....you might believe you and your family are eating nutritious meals (as ascertained by the government), but you (especially if you're a resident of flyover country) are probably wrong. What you need is an agent of a new gov. uh agency concerned with American eating habits to make sure you're eating the proper foods.

This new agency Food Action Team (or F.A.T.) will send an agent or agents to your home to check on your eating habits and to make sure you do not violate the eating rules as set down by The People Who Know What's Good For You i.e. your friendly federal gov. agency. Your tax dollars put to more good use.

I saw this coming years ago, as they were rolling out 0bamacare.
I predicted there would be a "Food Safety Act" of some sort.
No matter what reasons they tell you, the real goal is complete government control of all food production, processing, transportation, retail and consumption.
