Here’s the author’s defense of Gruber regarding the words that angered many people: “The stupidity of the American People”

___________________________

Since people know so little about public policy in general and health-care policy in particular, they tend to have incoherent views. In health care and other areas, they want to enjoy generous benefits while paying low taxes and don’t know enough details to reconcile those irreconcilable preferences. Gruber’s error here is that, by describing this as “stupidity” rather than a “lack of knowledge,” he moves from lamenting an unfortunate problem both parties must work around to condescending to the public in an unattractive way.

Here in this article, and the one posted immediately after it, we have the MSM in typical mode - circling their wagons around the White House instead of acting as “watchdog.” They are turning the thing around and slamming the critics instead of the administration.

This is a superb argument for why all of this must be left in the hands of the Free Market. Because there people are making decisions for themselves and not at best having 1 vote every two or four years out of millions of votes. It's impossible for a human being to make an informed decision about this.

In the Free Market, if people make a bad decision, they have incentive to correct it. Under government, there is no incentive to overturn a bad decision, in fact the worse it gets, the more money government demands. How many decades has the government been "reforming" government schools. Have the government schools improved in their core job of educating children in the basics? Gender-norming, they got down in aces, but geometry, not so much.

And 99% of Republicans are "reform" government types and thus doomed to failure. The RINO's and GOP-e are not even "reform" types. They're "let us run the show" types. Worse than useless.
