“One aspect in favor of this poll’s accuracy is that Landrieu recieved 42% of the vote on election day and shows her support at 40% in this new poll. And if you combine Cassidy’s 40% on election day with the other conservative Republican candidate Maness’s 14%, the total is well within the margin of error of the new poll”
You can’t just add the numbers from the last election. You have to factor in the number of voters staying home, which could be substantial.

That is a legitimate concern for this election. It is on a Saturday. Hunting season, duck/deer,
is ongoing and this is the only statewide race. There are two other congressional district runoffs,
a few judge/court races and a couple of municipal races. So turnout can be a concern and efforts
will be made to push the voters to get out and vote.
