John McCain Worries He's Tea Party's 'Number One Target' in 2016

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) implied that he would run for another Senate term in 2016 and is worried that he is the top target of conservatives and Tea partiers who have never trusted him.

“You have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst,” McCain told MSNBC on Wednesday when asked if he would run for reelection in 2016. “I definitely think that I would have to absolutely anticipate a tea party candidate or two or three... everybody tells me that I’m the number one target of the tea partiers.”

McCain told the left-wing outlet that he was "absolutely" leaning toward running again and said he talked with "finance people in the state," in addition to "different groups and organizations ranging from the Arizona Chamber to the Southern Arizona Defense Alliance to build the coalitions we need to build" for reelection.

Better yet, repeal the 17th Amendment and let the state legislators pick the senators like they used to do.

Who is there that could beat him in the primaries?

We couldn’t run someone weak who would lose. That would only strengthen him and re-kindle the meme of the death of the Tea Party (maybe we should rename it the Rasputin Party!).

Sarah lives there, right? Would she risk it? Anyone else? Brewer? Hayworth? I know she’s they’re not perfect, but they gotta be better than McQueeg.

Sorry, I’m in NC and am not that familiar with AZ politics.

I would ask him ‘why, McLettuce, do you THINK you are enemy #1? What have you done to make imperative for the TEA party to end you? What would you have done different if you WANTED their support?’

I read an article a couple of weeks ago about the demographic fact that most Africans are under something like 25, I can't remember exactly and their leaders are in their 70s and 80s. And the young people are not happy. I know there are a lot of senior citizen Tea Partiers, at least from the rallies I go to but the Tea Party leaders are younger than your established RINOs. And despite the AARP voting bloc which will vote democratic anyway, there are a lot of young couples trying to raise a family that are looking for someone who can relate to them. McCain will be fighting demographics in addition to his voting record. You'll be 80 John! Give it up man.

Looking at the electoral map it would be around 70-30 R’s over D’ right now if the 17th went away.

There’s a plan...

It has about as good of a chance as repealing the female vote...

If I could take my pick, I'd get rid of McCain instead of Harry Reid ...

Why ?

Harry Reid has always been our enemy, and he's done a great job at that (which I respect).

Respect for "Juan" McCain ?

Hell will freeze over until that happens.

In 2010 he said it was list last run. He said he would not run again.

At that time I predicted he would never be able to turn loose of power.

Well Arizonans, your and our nightmare lives on.

The fact that Sarah Palin is so loyal she won’t refuse to campaign for you is the only thing that gives you hope, John.

The media would love it if Sarah went against John. That way they could hold him up again as their darling while attacking Palin more viciously, if that were possible.

Well let’s see, 2016 Senate Republicans to primary?

My #1 target would be Lisa Murkowsi, of course we beat her last time but the democrats wrote her back in. I would suggest conservative Governor Sean Parnell, who sadly appears to have been narrowly defeated this year by leftist swine, as a logical opponent.

McCain would definitely be my target #2 (I’d put my own RINO Senator Mark Kirk out there but I know the combine will make sure no one who could possibly beat him will primary him).

Hey Sarah, don’t friggin help him this time (her second worse endorsement ever).

Speaking of 2016, check this out

Defeated (and about to be defeated) 2014 rats being touted for rematches

HAGAN to run againt Burr, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, this after she lost to a Republican who didn’t run a great race and after having had a lead in the polls for most of the campaign.

Landreiu to run for Vitter’s seat (he’ll be Governor), that’s not even laughable, it’s too stupid. But I guess LA rats have no bench.

The only one that might have a shot is Begich, because Murkowski (and other defacto rat scum like the new Governor, Walker) will endorse him if she’s chooses not to run another write in campaign after losing the primary again.

GA losers Nunn Jr. and Carter Jr. both being touted to run against Isakson (who surprisingly is running again, I thought he was sick),

Feingold (WI, please God no) and Sestak (PA) also being touted.

I have not the slightest clue why she thinks he should be the focus of her loyalty, over a healthy United States.

I couldn’t accept that in 2010, and if she does it again in 2016, I won’t be able to accept it then.

Another “look-at-me” moment from an aging pol desperate for attention. He is last decade’s news and should not be considered for a run in 2016.

WHY isn’t this clown on his way to the GLUE factory already???

I swear, he reminds me of ‘gramps in the attic’ on the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Except McCain has less brains.

he talked with "finance people in the state,"

How much does he have in his presidential run coffers that he might have to borrow from again?

When McCain ran for president in 2008, he had to rely on the FED funds as his campaign ran out of money.

When McCain ran for reelection to the senate in 2010, he had to 'borrow' some $20 million from his presidential fund.

Why did he have $20 million (or more) in left-over cash from his presidential run? And how does he get to 'borrow' that for other political campaigns?

McCain needs to be investigated for misuse of campaign funds and campaign fraud. Very likely, he could be indicted based on the laws of Campaign Finance Reform, (a.k.a., McCain-Feingold).

Well John, if you are a top target of the Tea Party it is your own fault. You have certainly gone out of your way to belittle and put down this grass roots, pro-American, here to stay movement.
