GEORGE W. BUSH: This Is Why I Refuse To Criticize Obama
Business Insider ^ | 11/14/2014 | Colin Campbell

Former President George W. Bush has a simple explanation for why he almost never criticizes his successor: He feels it undermines the office of the presidency.

In an interview that aired Thursday night on Fox News' "Hannity," Bush insisted he would not attack President Barack Obama even though he continued to have strong opinions about national politics.

"I don't think it's good for the country to have a former president undermine a current president; I think it's bad for the presidency for that matter," Bush said, according to video posted by Mediaite.

He said all that was necessary in 2008 when he was quoted, “This cat has no clue. I promise you that.”

exactly right,

evil is on the march and this man will say nothing, why?

bush and his family are all card carrying member of the NWO and are close friends of the clintons,

and its becoming clear (to me at a least) they plan to offer up brother jeb as some proper republican opposition candidate to “challenge” the machine will provide hillary the presidency.

Knowing full well that jeb is young enough to take his turn after hillary sits as queen for a season,

vette6387:" Obama has surely trashed him repeatedly. Seems only fair to defend yourself."

Obama has done much more to reduce the Constitutional respect for the Office of President than any other candidate,.. even cigar infusion Clinton.
To be silent , is to be in agreement with the lies offerred by the Chicago thuggery.
Grow up , and grow a pair, or become a martini vessel like Boehner !

” The very survival of the Republic is at stake with the current President acting as a despot. His unconstitutional actions will transform and destroy this country. Patriots should speak out, including former Presidents. Bush 41 and 43 have been disasters for the GOP and now they are touting Jeb to join this unholy triumvirate. A pox on the Bushes. “

The Bushes put the POX on US!

Like the Kennedys and Clintons, the Bushs obviously feel entitled to rule.

They certainly are not one of us.

Sometimes, the dire need to undermine a specific sitting president outweighs the risk of any potential undermining of the office of the presidency.

I just wish President Bush had been as concerned with the undermining of the office of the presidency when a bunch of his political opponents were tearing his presidency apart while he stood by and did nothing to fight back.

This, “I'm bigger and more honorable than them so will stay above my opponents and I won't be drug into the mud for a mud fight” mentality is a somewhat admirable but peculiar weakness of the Bush family.

It sank Poppy's Presidency and resulted in Clinton, destroyed GWB’s presidency and resulted in Obama, and is the main reason why Jeb Bush can not be trusted with the Presidency in 2016.

There is a line that must be drawn by any man of principle beyond which courtesy becomes compromise. Surely Bush recognizes this. Surely his commitment to this country is a higher good than his respect for Obama as president.

Bush begat Obama. Bush’s actions gave the Democrats a Super majority that passed Obamacare.

can you even imagine the level of criticism Obama will be dishing out on the next president? It will be epic for sure.

Following the carter model of obvious irrelevance.

The right to criticize our government representatives is foundational to our form of government. Of the people...requires the free speech of the political opinions of the people.

W, if you could only speak!

Your "Republican" Congress began the long slide into this Depression by trying to outspend the Democrats. Had you spoken up in 2007, The Mombasa MF would not be President. Your legacy: McAnus/Obama.

You are a patriot, but you were mute when shouts of command were desperately needed.

The trouble is that the presidency is “running wild”, having taken enormous powers not authorized it in the constitution.

It has become an “imperial presidency”.

The office has to be “downgraded” in its power, as no one can be expected “to use illegitimate powers properly”. Until the powers are removed in a cooperative gesture between the POTUS and congress, the office itself is a threat to our republic.

Some presidential actions, like signing statements and the appointment of Czars not confirmed by the senate or responsive to congress, need outright prohibition.

Strict regulation must be created for claims of executive privilege and refusal of government employees to appear before congress. The president should be required to get the permission of congress to leave the US for any purpose, as well as permission from the senate to sign any foreign agreement that can affect American sovereignty, even if it is a “sub-treaty”.

Laws, especially the Posse Comitatus Act and the War Powers Act, must be revitalized.

This is just a start, because the list of presidential abuses is long. When reformed, the office will indeed be that of a chief executive, not a dictator.
