I suspect this thread will try to equate the moral issues here with those of assisted suicide but there is no comparison.

No one is morally obligated to accept a disproportionate treatment (one in which the benefits are overweighted by the detriments). It is NOT the same as asking someone to take your life.

Agreed. I’m against suicide.

But one has the right to reject medical treatment that offers no clear hope of recovery or beating a disease in a reasonable period of time.

No one wants to die. We have to look at Death in the face and decide how we live our lives. Not even Death can take that away from us.

We cannot always hold him away but we can make him tarry.
