It has been my observation that the first thing a black individual or family does when they get sufficient money is to move away from other blacks.
That is okay for them. But when whitey does not want his children forced into that same environment that successful blacks fled, there is uproar? This is the height of hypocrisy. Blacks know what the situation is better than whites. This outcry is insincere at best.
Yes make them stay at gun point.
Many posters here seem to assume the issue is discipline. It may be. But my hunch is that a gradual growing unease with the lack of academic rigor is likely the driver. Note that the story emphasizes that selective magnet schools are also a target.
As the percentage of students from poor backgrounds increases, academic rigor tends to give way to remediation. Then the usual suspects show up demanding that that racial disparities in grades be reduced, the standard tactic for this being grade inflation and the further erosion of standards. Parents committed to academic excellence give up on their neighborhood school and bid for the still-good school across town, or give up on the regular classrooms entirely and fix their hopes on advanced/honors/AP/magnet programs. Since there are racial correlates to this, the race police are hot on their heels, and the magnet programs also become targets. Private schools and the suburbs start to look better and better. And so the downward spiral accelerates.
But here is the tricky thing. The U.S. is going to be majority minority by midcentury. In the younger demographic, we already are. I don't know where the 50% divide currently falls in the K-12 continuum, but school systems with a majority white student body are soon going to be the exception, not the norm.
So ... if the race hucksters continue to attack academic excellence as white privilege, the flight of academically gifted students of all races from urban public schools will become a stampede. The race police must learn to accept academic excellence on a color neutral basis, and disregard the median melanin content that this produces in academically rigorous programs. (And if a classroom turns out to be 70% Asian, so be it.) The alternative is to drive academically committed families of all races out of the public school system entirely. This has already happened in many cities. Portland should surely be able to learn from myriad examples, but there seem to be none so blind as race hucksters on a rampage.
Until certain minorities stop embracing a culture of willful ignorance, those who care about serious education will avoid sharing a classroom them. Period.
This is an interesting Catch 22.
Apparently “People of Color”, with the exception of Asians cannot learn unless they are in class rooms with whites. But if they do learn, they are then “ Acting White”, a very serious offense.
Throw in the fact that when “People of Color, move out to an area with more “People of Color” it is a wonderful thing. But if white people move out to an area with more white people, they are Racist Bastards.
The old Chinese curse, “ May you live in interesting times” has come to haunt us.
This is nothing new. A friend grew up in a “changing neighborhood” in Detroit in the ‘80s. As a White girl, she was terrorized by Blacks, both boys and girls. Her parents could not afford private school, so her education was second to survival. She graduated with a worthless diploma and a genuine case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The governent doesn’t pay for therapy for this PTSD, caused by their mismanagement of our public schools.

The animals among us....whites, blacks, latino, asian, doesn’t matter, they are all the same....evil humans. Once society breaks down they will be the bad people looting, killing, raping, and causing mayhem. Civilization never rose with those types of people around. Humanity has historically squashed these types out of the gene pool, through self defense, and survival.
It will happen again, as it has every single few centuries since we have been around. Always leave it to the natural order of the world and human nature to eventually, cleanse the gene pool. Guarantee it will happen, maybe not today, tomorrow, or the next decade, but it will happen. The foolish, evil, and stupid will not live through it.
Honestly, this story is a trumped up joke.
I live in Oregon. Every school I have been to or been in has been 99% white. The liberals love minorities here, but they won’t send their kids to a ghetto school. No way, no how.
No way no how will they force whites to live or go to school with the ghetto types either. Once the liberals do that, the wealthy libs will not fund them, and Oregon will turn red.
HOMESCHOOL - A real education!
Blacks that don’t treat themselves and their families like trash and do drugs are great people, and I have met many, and have lived around many. But anyone can be pressured to admit under undeniable evidence that the majority of black culture is......alien, perhaps even vile to most middle class white people. Always has been, always will be.
Name one black majority country with all black leadership that is successful, even marginally. Without major financial, social, and/or cultural disconnects from the modern world.
You cannot do it. I just cannot understand why blacks in a group seem to just deteriorate. Not one black community in the world thrives.
