My wife and I just drove across country from Chicago to WA state on I80/I84. Mind you this was just ahead of the polar vortex. I saw any number of “now hiring”, “help wanted” signs in the various cities at which we stopped for gas, food, or lodging. However, it really needs to be pointed out they were mostly at fast food joints and the like. Surprisingly to me this was even true in college towns like Laramie, WY, where one would think such jobs would be gobbled up by students needing some income. My point being there are jobs out there besides WalMart.
