There would still be all of those companies, because people would still need lawn care, roofing, and concrete, but the companies would finally be forced to pay fair wages to American citizens and legal immigrants and stop dodging the taxes that you and your fellow American citizens are being forced to pay through the nose.
The reason "traditional Democrat minorities" are not doing those jobs right now is because the illegal immigrants and the slavers who employ them are dodging the taxes that the "traditionals" would be forced to pay by virtue of having a social security number, and so the "traditionals" can't afford to work for that little money.
Yeah, your roof might cost more, and you might have to hire an aspiring local teenager to mow your lawn like everyone used to do, but at least you wouldn't be supporting a tax-dodging slave economy - isn't that worth something to you?
In principle you are correct, but only as long as welfare in all of its various forms doesn’t pay so well. As a practical matter, there isn’t any black-owned lawn care or roofing company, at least around here. So who do you call?
I just don't believe that. If we did what you and I both want, we'd deport the illegals and we'd do away with the minimum wage. But that is not going to raise the salaries of people putting shingles on houses. The labor force is not going to bid the salaries up for that work. The work is going to go to the lowest bidder. Whoever that may be. And it isn't going to be the subculture that is longtime traditional democratic minorities.
