We have to call out the domestic enemy, as you put it, explicitly by its actual name, wire service journalism. When journalists are associated, you cant expect them to be independent of each other. But all the biggies belong to the Associated Press.
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is impossible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and justice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations
“Ferguson.....back in the news”?
When did it ever leave the news? I have been reading stories about this since August 6th. It isn’t over, its just getting started (again and again). The media has been, and wants to hype this story forever as they look for that BIG STORY to sell their garbage news. Stop giving Ferguson rioters and protesters their 15 minutes of fame and things just may calm down a bit. Nope, it ain’t gonna happen.
And while your point re 'wire services' is well taken, it is but a symptom of the underlying malady, imho.
I would assert that the primary contagion is the glut of socialist indoctrination machines that presume to call themselves 'schools of journalism'.
In churning out their legions of leftist drones - either incapable of, or hostile to, critical thinking and objective reporting - the inevitable casualty is Truth.
To the extent that any individual 'reporter' is muzzled therefrom by their entrenched doctrine and/or blinding ambition, to such extent do they side with the enemies of Truth.
