The largest solar power plant of its type in the world - once promoted as a turning point in green energy - isn't producing as much energy as planned.
One of the reasons is as basic as it gets: The sun isn't shining as much as expected.

SHOCKING! Well, maybe not so much. Maybe they shouldn’t try to activate them at night.

The left will solve the problem by giving the company more grant dollars.

Somehow this is due to global warming no doubt. /s/

It seems like some of the basic engineering and contingency planning was missed in the development of this site.

Operators initially expected to need steam from gas-powered boilers for an hour a day during startup. After operations began, they found they needed to keep boilers running more than four times longer - an average of 4 1/2 hours a day. State energy regulators in August approved the plant's request to increase the natural gas it is allowed to burn by 60 percent.

You get more electricity from solar panels by putting Skittles on them and watering with Unicorn pee.

Yeah, the sun is wasting all its sunshine making global warming, not making light.
We need an executive order. SUN: make more light.

With all this gorebal worming, wouldn’t you think there would be three times the normal sunlight?

They should just add some hamster wheel generators to the system.
Those little suckers love to run on their wheels at night.

Listening to some show. Said you will NEVER get the return on solar. I’d call it a scam.

350,000 mirrors the size of garage doors that need to be kept clean in the dusty desert...now we know why they want amnesty for all those uneducated illegals. .
To: glock rocks
How many people are cleaning the dew, dust and pollen generated SLIME off those mirrors every morning?
Too bad the computer models all “assumed” CLEAN mirrors.
Too bad for our two billion dollars, too!

They’ve found a great way to funnel money to their cronies,
and they’re doing it through a way that won’t be questioned by any Democrat voter,
because the motives behind “being green” are never questioned.
