What about Phoebe Sales of Massachusetts ???

She was made an “official slave” in 1633 at age 7..

sold to another master at about age 12...

My ancestor...

Whoops she was white..

and what about the group of African slaves that arrived in Virginia in 1619 ???

No official set them free but rather allowed them to be sold to colonial masters...
