A "reefer song" by Harold Arlen that was an international hit in the fall of 1931:

In the railroad game, a "reefer" is a refrigerator car.

A decade ago, our dear FReeper Libertina was with me in a car being driven by an old railroad man who had gotten out of the game and taken over his father-in-law's business which he turned into a multi-million dollar success.

He said, "Back then, we were running reefers out of Spokane."

Libertina screamed, "You were doing what?!!!!"

I had to educate her as to the railroad meaning of the word.

Minnie sure do get around!

(When she’s not mooching, of course!)
