In Secret, Obama Extends U.S. Role in Afghan Combat

WASHINGTON — President Obama signed a secret order in recent weeks authorizing a more expansive mission for the military in Afghanistan in 2015 than originally planned, a move that ensures American troops will have a direct role in fighting in the war-ravaged country for at least another year.

Mr. Obama’s order allows American forces to carry out missions against the Taliban and other militant groups threatening American troops or the Afghan government, a broader mission than the president described to the public earlier this year, according to several administration, military and congressional officials with knowledge of the decision.

Why are we wasting our time, money and better yet, our troops on a hell hole like Afghanistan? Get us the hell out of there and let these animals enjoy their caves and otherwise worthless country. There is nothing we can do to change anything there except agent orange their poppy crops.

What better way for Obama to decimate our military then send them to die for no possible legitimate (strategic) reason.

The left may be pressuring President Obama to exit Afghanistan. But their heroes—from FDR to JFK—promoted U.S. involvement in more wars than all modern GOP presidents combined. Should President Barack Obama continue his escalation of the wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan, it will be the liberal thing to do.

A relative that has been to Afghan several times, Silver Star, Bronze Stars; and even though most in his profession detest Big Ears as much as any of us; he said that right now they are busier than ever. Makes sense too with all the mistakes "O" has made over his tenure. He's being forced to raise the stakes or suffer a worse failure than he has created up to now.

We waste time because Obama and many other D.C. politicians are interested in proving that the United States is better than the Soviets were in the fight to control Afghanistan, and the Middle East, in fact, the reality is that the big major players for diplomatic control of the Middle East are Russia, China, U.S.A., and a little more besides. The “Cold War” isn’t truly over, and the U.S. is still trying to prove itself superior to the other rival nations. Never mind that the Middle East has cost us more oil in fighting machines over there than we could hope to actually get out of it.
