(Rasmussen) Poll: Cassidy up 15 points on Landrieu
The Hill ^ | November 20, 2014 | Jonathan Easley

Posted on 11/22/2014 9:57:15 AM PST by abb

Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) has opened up a 15-point lead over incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) in their runoff race, according to a new poll from conservative-leaning Rasmussen.

Cassidy takes 56 percent support in the poll to Landrieu’s 41.

It’s the second poll released this week by a conservative outlet to show Cassidy with a double-digit lead. A Vox Populi poll released on Wednesday showed Cassidy with an 11-point lead.

The Rasmussen survey shows that Landrieu’s efforts to pass a bill authorizing the Keystone pipeline may have done little to sway voters in the energy-rich state.

While 70 percent of Louisiana voters strongly support building the pipeline, those same people favor Cassidy 78 percent to 20 percent over Landrieu. Among those who somewhat favor Keystone, Landrieu leads 54 percent to 40 percent, and she also leads big among those who oppose the pipeline.

A bill backed by Landrieu authorizing the controversial energy pipeline fell one vote short in the Senate. A similar measure offered by Cassidy in the House passed.

According to the survey, Landrieu’s biggest issue is that she doesn’t have strong backing from those in her own party. Only 76 percent of Louisiana Democrats say they support Landrieu, while 21 percent say they favor Cassidy.

Cassidy has almost universal support among Republicans in the state, at 92 percent. He also leads by 7 among independents.

The Rasmussen survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted between Nov. 16 and Nov. 19 and has a 3-point margin of error.

I tell you all what.

If the margin of Cassidy’s win is less than 15%, that is Cassidy 57.5 %, Mary 42.5%, I will pledge $100 to the ongoing FReepathon. If fundraising targets are met, I will put up the money on the January FReepathon.

All you who think the margin will be closer than that, put your money up, and copy Jim Rob with the reply.

Any takers?

You should.....the Rasmussen (George Soros) poll is weighted, heavily in favor of Democrat verimn & low life!!! IMHO.....the entire group of voters in great state of Louisiana should turn out and vote against Senator Mary Landrieu, giving her a massive political defeat. She is naught but an Obamabot, butt kisser, that now can do absolutely nothing for the people of Louisiana

VOTE FOR BILL CASSIDY on special election day, Saturday, December 6, 2014.....DO IT!!!

If you take the votes Cassidy originally got, then add the votes the other two Repubs got, and consider that most of those votes will got to Cassidy, you should have a 60% - 70% take for him during the run-off.

There is a difference between me worrying about the good folks coming out to vote and having the certainty to bet real money
(or even lunch if I get down your way some day)

LOL! In all seriousness, I think our turnout will be just fine. Mary’s however, depends upon “street money” for vote hauling. Always been that way in Louisiana.

And she is flat broke. No street money, no turnout.

Go conservo-cajuns. Gator the vote. Enough of Mary Piggy. Her Dem lovers in DC already kicked her to the curb. Set Miss Piggy free from the Dem funny farm— will do her some good.

Forget toasted Mary Landscrew-— vote en masse to send another message to her lover Bammy in DC. A nice 20 point plus margin of victory is a symbolic middle finger to Bamster and his DemRat sycophants.

That’s why my husband refers to her as Hillary Landrieu. First of all, he says that Mary is too pretty a name, and second, she and Hillary look and sound quite alike. Especially if you’re looking at them from the back.

Don’t count on Cassidy getting all of the Maness votes. Many Maness voters I’ve spoken to can’t stand Cassidy. They’d rather stay home than vote for him. There is a lot of animosity towards the La. GOP for backing Cassidy early on, even though there were two Republicans running. And Cassidy is considered a RINO, who also gave $2,000 to Landrieu’s campaign in 2002, and backed the Democratic candidate for governor, Kathleen Blanco.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Cassidy will get ALL the Maness votes. ALL of them. Every one.

I know of several people in just my immediate neighborhood who voted for Maness and are staying home Dec. 6. Me and my husband included. You were being sarcastic, right?
