I asked how many senior patriots are willing to give up SS in the name of freedom. Based on the majority of the replies the answer seems to be not many. Who deserves their government check and who does not? If we are to reduce the size of our government there will have to be a reduction in the number of people getting a check from the governemnt.

If it makes you happier I will also call out teachers, cops, firemen, veterans, disabled, widows, and orphans. There is no way we can fund all of the deserving people’s checks and still be free. Unless you believe paying 50% or more of your income to the government is freedom. So if SS is sacrosanct then all of the others must be as well which means we are not and will not be free and the idea of a revolution is a joke.

Well, much more clairified response.

If you paid into SS, that is not welfare. It is, in fact, your money.

Fact is, the givernment is doing the financial planning for those over 65, or whatever the retirement age is.

If you want to reduce the number of people getting checks then welfare seems like a much more reasonable place to start and a few other “entitlement”(hate that effin word) programs.

It migh5 interest you to know that if you don’t want SS because you are financially well off but, you want Medicare as a fall back, in case the world somehow gets so screwed up you are no longer wealthy, you must take SS.

FK’d up huh?

I know this becauee I was discussing reform with some private jet monied people and while they have private insurance and pay for those things they want out if their pocket, they set themselves for catastrophic events as well.

As far as being satisfied with paying 50% of my income, I am not very happy about it.

I’ve been paying the too rate for 30 years and expect that over the next few years that the type of income I recieve will change and reduce that obligation considerably.

I personally don’t believe SS will be there if I ever retire and couldn’t care less if it isn’t.

And I’m no where near the so called retirement age. Additionally, I can’t recall even thinking about retiring.

I like to do stuff and knowing what I do about those with private jet money, they ain’t retired.

They’ll say they are but, they ain’t.

They just like doing things and now they do things they never could have.

Go after the chimps who actually don’t produce anything for the economy and reduce spending on schools.

If the parents aren’t involved them kids will be stoopit no matter how money you throw at em.

And parasites create disease anyway.

Kick em to the curbs
