IF moderates were the loser, why then are they still calling the shots? Why have they not been or being replaced by conservatives?
Because there's a difference between successfully getting elected and successfully climbing the ladder in an intra-party hierarchy.
The one requires appealing to the voters, the other requires appealing to other like-minded politicrats who already inhabit higher levels in the hierarchy.
