Obama’s illegal alien amnesty is just going to be an open door. It’s his DREAMER amnesty on a much bigger scale.
The infrastructure isn’t there to process and check all these applications. Congress won’t be allocating money for an illegal unilateral amnesty (which sets them up to be blamed for the consequences of Obama’s illegal actions) so the whole thing will be an open door for just about anyone trying to get through.
The political debate over Obamas unilateral immigration actions is obscuring the more basic question of whether the federal government is actually up to the task of handling a flood of applications from as many as 5 million illegal aliens seeking quasi-legal status.
Among the potential problems: the agency that handles immigration paperwork may have to double its capacity for applications very quickly; critics say the potential for fraud increases with a high volume of immigrants in a short amount of time; the wait time for all kinds of immigration approvals could dramatically increase.
The new immigration effort is a similar high-wire act that needs to be carried out without legislative or financial help from Congress. And it involves two agencies with checkered reputations among immigrant rights advocates: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. USCIS will have up to six months to get ready to accept applications, but will be pressured to process those requests quickly and could be tempted to cut corners.
A former federal immigration official involved with planning the 2012 program acknowledged that the new deferred action will be a test for the agency. The modeling and the logistics are incredibly challenging, said the ex-official, who asked not to be named. USCIS processes about 4 million petitions a year already So, were going to double that in a short period of time.
And you can imagine how well that’s going to go.
I do not see a need for a czar, Pfeiffer said Friday at a breakfast organized by the Christian Science Monitor.
So that means we’ll have a czar by the end of the year.
Actually, we should let it proceed - for now. Get all the illegals to self-register and provide their names and addresses. It'll make it that much easier to round them up and ship them out.
That’s part of the plan.
No serious processing and weeding out is desired.
The statement that there will be certain criteria to qualify is just the usual Obama bullcrap.
Green Cards will be just handed out to anyone walking in the door.
People need to go to Nextgov.com. It’s an IT news outlet that specializes in Gvt IT.
Search for USCIS, ELLIS and Transformation. Multiple articles over several years documenting the failure to put together a working electronic processing system for immigration processing. To the tune of a couple billion dollars flushed down the toilet.
The CIO apparantly got removed. Surprising for government until you read he was removed for warning that the agency’s plan couldn’t work.
This thing may turn out to be the next healthcare.gov. Except there were years of warnings in the press.
Does anyone actually THINK there will be an honest effort to administer the ‘new citizens’ properly and with efficiency?
I defy ANYONE to prove that this CAN be done .... or is even INTENDED.
Because....if it was possible, there would NOT be the problem we have now with people of every description running around undocumented and with the most laughable government ‘effort’ to determine who or where they are!!
Of course not. Ten years ago lost a wallet and a social security card. Had to supply certified copies of birth certificate and other documents to get a replacement card issued. Last month I had to get another replacement card. All that was asked was name and address, No ID was required. FedGov can process things rather quickly when motivated.
Process them through the VA—the apps and docs will be lost, processing delayed—itza win-win!
I’m sure that all of the illegal aliens are just good folks who want to become good Americans, so just skip the background check and get the rubber stamp ready.
Just imagine how difficult it will be for the agency to process anything if Congress holds back on the funding...!
Of course they can’t. Obama knows
Housing prices in Texas is about to go through the roof. Roofing costs will go up, too.
Didn’t you know that this will “bring them out of the shadows”?
I didn’t even know they were hiding in the shadows.
Fire em and hire some Mexicans! They'll geterdone!
The only administrative effort that will be done AT ALL or with ANY EFFICIENCY will be to get them onto the DNC voting roster AND ... getting them ‘lined up’ for taxpayer funded freebies.
To expect anything requiring further or more careful accountability on incoming ‘immigrants’ is a joke.
They will be American citizens IN NAME ONLY and will enjoy as much (or MORE) of American abundance as it is possible to enjoy, with an absolute minimum of any effort to qualify for it or to repay the United States for any of it. Absolutely nothing will be done to assure that the time spend on the dole will be as short as necessary and no encouragement will be given for them to become self sufficient.
The government is now in the process of fabricating from whole cloth an entire and new strata of dependent, indolent, surly and belligerent people who will NEVER assimilate any more than it is necessary for them to do.
JUST what we needed!
The statement that there will be certain criteria to qualify is just the usual Obama bullcrap.
AND, it gives more ILLEGALS a lot more time to come across the border and claim the right to be here. Five million was just for starters.
That’s the ticket! Let the VA take over the illegal-alien-invader project. Then, they will be killed through neglect...just like the Veterans. By the way...no one has been fired for murdering Veterans...nothing has changed there.
They’re not going to apply, not in massive numbers anyway. They will be suspicious about the potential results of getting on a list and government knowing where to find them.
Kind’a like the way many of us feel about weapons registration.
MS13 don’t need applications just a way in they will handle it from there.
These are the workers that would have to process the paperwork and here they were pleading for this not to take place. Some government employees with common sense maybe?
Additionally, I read that the Citizenship and Immigration Service, an agency of Homeland Security receives their funding from application fees so I don’t believe Congress can even DEFUND the process without DEFUNDING Homeland Security - which wouldn’t be a bad idea anyway! If they don’t operate on their own budget, this seems like a lost cause.
