How do you have a “conversation on race” with someone who is irrational, refuses to admit the truth when it’s staring them in the face and who’s agenda is your demise?

I’ve been thinking much about that point in the last few days. Such closed mindedness, such a firm grip on a cultural ethos that fails them. It doesn’t make sense, why continue to invest in something that does not pay dividends (looted goods notwithstanding)?

Further, what is the ‘conversation on race’ supposed to achieve? Shouldn’t we care less what color skin someone has? God made us all and Jesus instructed us to love one another. For someone to tell me they are (insert color here) and that I need to lessen expectations of them as an equal participant within our civil society is foolish. What else would I be asked from a ‘conversation on race’? For law enforcement to ignore certain crimes? For judges not to send criminals to jail for punishment because the diversity levels are not equal? For crime statistics to be ignored - and to not be suspicious of that kid in the hoodie? Would I be asked to accept the notion of a need to redistribute more of what I earn each workday? For special access to jobs or college entrance? Would I be asked to somehow find acceptance of a entitlement mindset?

How about this: I refuse to have a ‘conversation on race’. However, If we are to have a conversation on culture or life decisions that have resulted in poverty, crime, drug use, etc. I would be very much interested to provide perspective. Ultimately I would be selling a lifestyle that promotes God, family, education, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic. But the biggest obstacle I would promote overcoming is that of assimilation - to become an American-American.
