Stay healthy for two more months at least. Otherwise our dictator and Dirty Harry quickly ram another incompetent left-wing Constitution Shredder through the Lame Duck Senate. I would hope the new Senate would have the guts to block any new Shredders.

I just pray to God she lives 15 minutes past the swearing in of Ted Cruz in Jan 2017.

“I’m not a huge fan of hers for obvious reasons, but these days I’m happy to see ANYTHING that was done Constitutionally.”

So it’s o.k. from your perspective to approve Communists to sit on the SCOTUS?

The fact that she refuses to retire tells me that she’s confident about the fix being in for 2016.

...or she might simply be narcissistic, refusing to follow marching orders. If Hillery were in office she'd need to double security...

On a good note, if she does retire,or gets caught in the sun, Obama’s new nominee will face some stiff questioning.

Stay healthy for 2 more years Ruthie.

Actually, all she has to do is limp along until after the GOP-majority is installed in the Senate in January. If she resigns or dies after that, Obama can nominate replacements until he's blue in the face, and the GOP can simply refuse to bring them up for a vote or vote them down. As long as her seat is vacant, the SCOTUS will be tilted notably rightward from it's current composition.

In fact, this prospect likely has dems frantically trying to talk Ginsburg into retiring NOW, so Obola can try to have her replacement' s nomination crammed through the Senate in December.

I wouldn’t put anything past Hillary. Antonin would need a full-time security outfit around him with her in charge.

I believe it tells us how little respect she has for The Won.

Ginsburg has been especially critical of many of this Administration's actions and positions. She was truly offended by the President's treatment of the court after the Citizens United decision. Given Ginsburg's reputation as a knowledgable (though liberal) jurist, I imagine she recognizes Sotomayor and Kagan for what they are -- hacks.

I believe she's taking her chances on Hillary. And, if that doesn't happen, she can live with a Republican naming her replacement.

For purposes of this discussion, it doesn't matter if I was, or am, happy with her appointment. For the record, I'm not.

She was appointed Constitutionally. That's what the whole Rule of Law is about, I think.

I may not be happy with the outcome, but I must respect the process.

As much as I felt at the time (and still do) that she was not qualified or suited for the appointment, I can live with it.

What I CAN'T stomach is the blatantly Unconstitutional practices and mandates that have become commonplace during Obama's presidency.

“What I CAN’T stomach is the blatantly Unconstitutional practices and mandates that have become commonplace during Obama’s presidency.”

I can’t argue with you there, but I am continually disappointed at how quickly the GOPE rolls over and puts their collective ‘legs in the air” when it comes to judicial appointments. They allow people to go on our courts for life, and that changes the political landscape for decades.

She may die. Should the Current Occupant have opportunity to replace her with someone even further to the left (Susan Rice, for instance), the Senate should not confirm, and if necessary, never fill the seat until after the end of the term of the Current Occupant. That would give us a 5-3 split or at worse, a 4-4 split and no resolution on the given issue.
