Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-New York) comments on Wednesday about Democrats’ misguided focus on health care in President Barack Obama’s first term prompted backlash from top Democrats and left-leaning groups, who accused him of being politically craven.

At a speech before the National Press Club in Washington on Tuesday, Schumer said Democrats made a mistake by entering into a fight over health care after they passed the 2009 economic stimulus.

His reasoning: Democrats were targeting the uninsured, a population that he said makes up only about 5 percent of registered voters. Only about one-third of the uninsured, he said, are registered or eligible to vote...

So the uninsured are too stoooopid to vote? Dunno why the marx-o-crats don’t cast the votes for them.

Selah. (Biblical word meaning "chew on this").

'RATS completely turned our country's health care system upside down for 5% of registered voters.

Oh look! A rare moment of retrospection by a Leftie. I doubt it. He is just bemoaning the fact that Americans were not that stupid after all.

He comes from a safe state so he doesn’t have to worry about being re-elected.

But Chuck Schumer is right trying to do health care on a party-line basis was a disaster for the Democrats. There were moderate Republicans willing to work with them on a less costly and more comprehensive reform and they spurned them.

The Democrats have suffered enormous losses. However, the national party’s furious reaction shows it has learned nothing from its defeat this month.

More like Schumer is angry that it wasn’t done incrementally. Remember, that leftists like to achieve their agenda through bits and pieces.

Looks like lots of bad things are happening aboard the Good Ship Democrat. The lead rat is repositioning himself near a lifeboat.

This is actually hugh and seriez. But for real.

Such an about face — wonder if he had his staff go through and scrub all the times he was in favor of Ocare. Assume that would be impossible so he’s gonna get the gruber treatment for the next two years.

So where was Schumer with this great insight when the bill was being discussed? When it was voted on? When did he get his grand epiphany?

Someone needs to find videos of him swearing that if we didn’t pass the ACA that the world would end........and then ask him why he was so wrong then, and so right now........

Sounds like he is admitting that their goal is to buy votes, and in retrospect, Obamacare didn’t buy enough.

Upchuck is up for re-election in 2016. He smells the fail of Odumbo’s policies, including odumcare, and wants to protect himself from the decline. I smell a turnaround in NY next time.

Good. An addict often has to hit rock bottom before they recognize that they need help.
