More consumers report lower intended holiday spending in 2014 compared to 2013, according to the 15th annual holiday spending survey conducted by the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).

This year, 10 percent said they would spend more while 33 percent said they would spend less. In 2013, 13 percent said they would spend more while 32 percent said they would spend less. The proportion who said they would spend less declined steadily from 55 percent in 2008 to 32 percent last year before rising slightly this year. (Consumers almost always spend more than they plan to spend, so year-to-year comparisons are most meaningful.)

My spending isn’t a political statement as much as it is a response to the cheap Chinese tat on offer from everyone including so called premium brands.

WALLET SHUT.

PURSE DOWN.

Going Scrooge this year. I have to work. I have to pay taxes. I don’t have to spend and pay sales tax. Give Love, not trinkets.

They outlawed the importation of the Chinese firearms years ago, so, there you go.

Just buy them some nice American made firearms, and everyone wins.

I've noticed the gun merchants advertising really nice discounts on Friday.

I bet a lot of people, like me, are sick of how commercial Christmas has become and are trying to back out of it. I saw my first Christmas commercial the day after Halloween!!
We started unwinding Christmas about 10 years ago. We have a set amount of money we spend on each grandkid and they are the only presents we buy. I’m usually done Christmas shopping by Halloween.
It makes Christmas soooo much more enjoyable.

I am looting for my presents this year. Why buy when I can get my new UHDTV for justice.

Americans have been forced to exchange their holiday discretionary income for the obamacare healthcare lottery. Pray that the day you get sick your contribution to the scam hasn’t already gone to pay for someone abortion procedure.
