I don’t think so, especially for Aussies, NZs, etc. There are a couple I can think of that have speech impediments to boot: Christian Bale, and Gerard Butler. Can’t recall their names but as I recall there are a couple of others that fit the category too.
They all eventually end up pale and decaying.
The southern accent is derivative of the Scot English accent, with a touch of Cajun—which came from Canada.
I think British actors can do a generic American accent better than American actors can do a British one. It's concerning because they may be among us right now and we'd never know!
Of the few episodes I watched, the cool protagonist was a sword-wielding Black chick while the malevolent antagonist was some Southern-tongued White dude.
And NPR is complaining about diversity... Whatever, Libs are FOS.
This nonsense started years ago; when “Friends” was criticized for a lack of diversity towards the end of their run, they added a token black female and it was a goofy fit (she was supposed to be involved with the guido-type - which in the NYC are would be nothing short of ridiculous - remember Howard Beach?).
I watched “The Walking Dead” briefly when it started, then quickly lost interest when the social engineering messages filled it. It does not reflect the behavior of various groups as I encounter them in my daily routine (to put it mildly).
Diversity is a disaster. Why would we want to emulate on TV?
You’ll know which zombie is gay.
He goes for the Fly instead of the neck.
Meta-narrative:
Victim, victimizer, hero/savior
Black (under-represented), Whites (makers of TWD), hero/savior (NPR)
Also "water" -- "wortah" in the south, "wawder" in the north.
Ah, I see it’s also an issue for “The Walking Tall.”
“Eric Deggans is the first full-time TV critic for National Public Radio”
It would be nice to have a TV critic that didn’t see TV through his own special racial prism. Frankly his review made me LOL, it’s so sophomoric.
Ships, cleared islands -- the key is to make it hard for zombies to get to you. Over time, unless zombies are immortal supernatural creatures, they will tend to decay, fall apart, and become less of a threat. Most cities are built near a body of water, so you can come to shore, send a raiding party off to grab supplies from supermarkets and warehouses, scoot back to the ship, and sail off.
I DVR that one. It’s quite clever.
Yeah. The surly half zombie guy is great. He was on the driving range with zombies all around and they don’t bother him.
I liked last week when he took the woman too his tent. Gotta have your priorities straight even during the ZA.
