Many retirees (including myself in a few years) will be using the kids location as a major consideration. I think many feel the same way.

Yes. we’ll stay near our kids.

A lot of libs don’t have kids (thank God).

One problem with this strategy is that kids often move. We know several couples who moved after retirement to be near their daughters and the grandkids. Then, the son-in-law gets an attractive job offer in another state and off go the daughter with her husband and children.
