I can't go the original article - HuffPo locks up my computer every single time.
I all in favor of black male Americans openly carrying, as long as the rest of us can too. Of course, I am not in favor of young black thugs shooting policemen which it seems to me what this article actually advocates, although clearly the author has not thought this through (which is, of course, a fundamental flaw of liberalism.)

Authorities reported that Michael Brown had enough marijuana in his system to cause him to hallucinate. michael Brown’s very bad day started and ended with marijuana.
I can tell you right now, Mr. Goodman, that the conservatives and Tea Party supporters whom you regularly insult and disparage are NOT among those who would prevent honest black citizens from exercising their right to self defense. We advocate self defense for ALL.
So, who is it that’s stopping you from carrying?

No it is not - which is probably why I cannot find any statistics which indicate 99% of black males are felons.
The pot is only the fevered ranting of drug warriors who fail to understand their big govt proclivities and consequences.

Well, liberalism has as a core belief the foisting of responsibility from the individual to the collective/government.
So, just like they believe charity is best handled through government (relieving their own requirement for charity), so is self defense.
Frankly, if more law-abiding blacks carried, there would be far less violence in black communities. Nevertheless, white or black, if carrying, and the police can see that you are carrying, you have a responsibility to yourself, your family, society, and yes, even the police officers involved, to make no sudden moves, to obey their orders and take it up in the courts later, to restrain your temper, no matter how provoked.

Did it look to you in that video like Michael Brown would care if the law said he “couldn’t” have a gun?Felony conviction voids your right to own a gun. If Brown had survived he certainly would have been charged with a felony.
It would not bother me a bit that black people enjoyed and exercised their 2nd Amendment rights. The vast majority are law abiding and having all good people either open or conceal carry weapons would greatly reduce crime. Criminals of all colors look for the easy mark with the lowest risk.
To any liberal trolls reading this, black or white, please remember that in the pre-civil war south and during the Jim Crow period blacks were not allowed weapons in order to make it easier to control and victimize them. They did it for the same reason they made it illegal for blacks to be taught to read - power. If you want off of the modern Democrat Plantation and enjoy more freedom and safety get yourself a gun. The Klan didn’t give a fig for black safety when it stripped black of their 2nd Amendment rights and neither do their descendants, the Democrat Party.

There is no amount of marijuana that will cause hallucinations. Period.
People have been known to lace it with other drugs.
The author is likely to be disappointed with reality. The gun culture has been welcoming minorities with open arms for years.
Armed minorities are likely to move toward conservatism.
Brown was 18, concealed carry age in Mo. is 21. A few years back it was 25.
Marijuana doesn’t cause hallucinations.
LSD, mushrooms, mescaline, peyote, and a couple of other chemicals can. Oh, alcohol can also cause hallucinations, but usually in mentally ill people.
