I will give him the BOTD as I need more info, but just let me say-if the GOP is going to worry about the "optics", as they say, of everything they do, we might as well recognise that the war is lost, now, and be done with it, because they are never going to have good "optics" with the media being the propaganda arm of the left.

They can do nothing but defend themselves against an endless media onslaught of blame if Obama shuts government down. You don’t win from a defensive position.

Better to keep things running and send bills to Obama even if he vetoes them. Let him defend the vetoes.

Nothing can be done in the next two years without a shutdown. Giving the Sultan what he wants for the text two years will leave us with a shariah system and a lifetime Sultan and not even any more mere reference to the Constitution. Avoiding a shutdown is apparently the only policy position the Republican Party has. They might as well all go home and leave the government to the Democrats and their Sultan.
