The last one resulted in the 2014 victory. At the very worst, you could argue that the VA governorship POSSIBLY swung because of that.
I disagree. The only thing that save the GOP after the shutdown was the role out of Obamacare and the fees. Then there were all of the foreign affairs issues. When it came to the “partial” shutdown both parties lost but the GOP lost much, much bigger than the Rats. That is why I agree with Charles K. and Gowdy on this point.
