The Actual Facts Of The Eric Garner Case
Breitbart.com ^ | December 3, 2014 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 12/03/2014 6:28:48 PM PST by Biggirl

On Wednesday, a New York grand jury refused to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of 43-year-old Eric Garner. Pantaleo is white; Garner is black. That one fact meant that the President of the United States and the Mayor of New York City took to the microphones to denounce American racism.

I have been too busy to pay much attention to this. But from what I now understand, this was a needless death in which the lives of police were not threatened. He didn’t have a weapon -— he had cigarettes. Whether black, white, brown, yellow, or red, this death should not have happened and the chokehold violated procedure. No matter how foolish the cigarette law may be, had he been incarcerated for eight violations, he would be in jail right now for awhile instead of being dead. How many chances does one get in NY before he spends some time in jail?

Yeah, anyone who tries a choke hold with one arm had better be at least twice as big as their ‘victim’.

“Choke hold” is the Big Lie in this story.

Grand juries often conflict with Constitutional obligations and adherents. I wouldn't put it within the same breath of The Constitution..

It is unfortunate that this thug, who was resisting arrest as was the Ferguson thug, died because of his own stupidity. What is more unfortunate and scary is that the Attorney General of the US, the President, and the Mayor of NY have labelled the death of this stupid thug’s death as race related. It doesn’t make any difference whether this dead clown was white, black, brown, or green! He resisted arrest and died while he was being taken down? Unfortunate for him but reality!!!!

Well, I’m glad you’re okay with it because Manhattan is alive with sirens, cop cars of all descriptions, and helicopters right now.

I wish everyone would wait until the grand jury evidence is released before commenting. It covers events before the police intervention that might explain a lot.

So let me get this straight.

Say two Joe citizens get into a very short scuffle.

One has a pre existing condition and dies as a result of the confrontation.

The liver is safe due to pre existing?

It wasn’t a chokehold, which incapacitates and can kill by crushing the air passage. The cop grabbed Garner and hauled him back and then released him.

“Hold” means that somebody is being held, but as soon as they pulled Garner back, they let go of him.

The initial reports that I read said that Garner also had cocaine in his system. Does anybody know if this is accurate? I think the grand jury would have been given the toxicology report.

Well, maybe next time a cop violates procedure and a death results, they’ll at least fire the clown.
This was not some thug bumrushing a cop - this was excessive force.

If blacks wanted to riot about this, I MIGHT be okay with it...

Nice of you to take one for the cause.

Wait until all the facts are known. This did not start with the sale of a cigarette.

Regarding Post 5: I am with you on 2 and 3, but not so much on 1. The Gentle Giant and Captain Skittles were trying to kill (or seriously harm) someone. They needed to get put down.

It is true that Garner's actions contributed to his death -- but unless you are an anti-smoking Nazi, his actions weren't putting anyone in danger. He was violating a pretty scurrilous, and petty, ordinance. Yes, as some others have noted - his being out of shape probably contributed to his death, but he wasn't doing anything that required someone to rough him up.

Watch the youtube of the arrest ... And death f Mr. garner. It doesn’t take long. His last words were, “I can’t breathe”.

And then he is dead. Immediately.

The good news is, that Mr. Garner has stopped smoking and is virtually certain to lose weight. Bloomberg is, no doubt, pleased.

I think people should wait. I think the media has jumped the shark on this case. The blacks are going nuts. Thanks to the media.

“If blacks wanted to riot about this, I MIGHT be okay with it...”

If whites wanted to riot about this, I MIGHT be okay with it...I just hope that they do it in Bloomberg’s neighborhood.

Nope. It never does. I don’t think the cops would have harassed this guy if he was was not a habitual offender.

But the cop still used a choke hold to bring the guy down, which the NYPD allegedly does not allow, and he died. That should put a hell of a dent in the cop’s career.

Brown was a good shoot, no doubt about it. This incident doesn’t look so good.

In the end, freedom and liberty are not defined by how we treat the people of whom we approve, but how we treat the people we despise.
