Well... here's the thing. If you think you're immune because you're "one of the good guys," (and the rest of us are "bad guys") you might not be as careful as a sensible person would be.
I recall several incidents over the years where these naive "do gooders" went to some place where they don't belong to "help" and ended up being raped and/or killed for their trouble.
They even express amazement that they are going to be raped or killed because they are one of the "good" people.
The Haitian earth quake comes to mind.
