“That’s the first I heard about a slap.”

It really does not matter whether you “heard” about it or not.

So, are most cop dog shootings excessive?

...”Blaming cops for his death is like blaming good tires for a high-speed crash”....

Amazing people can’t see the obvious.

This is one time I think the Fed. should actually file criminal rights charges against the cop.

On what basis? The cop did not break any federal law. He should have been more careful, but he was just trying to do his job. Apparently, it is a job he is not competent for. If I were his boss, he would be fired.

Sometimes it DOES equal murder though. In this case, it was negligent manslaughter at a minimum.

Maybe the police should have thrown a net over the perp? Of course, then they would be accused of racism because they would be treating him like some sort of jungle animal. Is it to the point that they should say “Pretty please...”?

I’ve read that too, but good luck getting anyone to pay attention to the information. And how would this representative know more than the GJ to say he sees something more “clearly” than they did?

Excessive force for someone as large as Garner resisting arrest is anything more than hands. That was not the case here.

Sorry, but you seem to be ignorant of the facts. Police were CALLED by a business owner to enforce a law, good or bad, that was hurting the business owner. If you sold smartphones and tablets, but a guy sets up business on the sidewalk in front of your store, selling stollen electronics at a deep discount to your prospective customers against the law, you’d be stupid not to call the police too.

The police had a right to be there to confront Garner, who had an extensive arrest record and was breaking a more serious law, resisting arrest.

For what? The officer broke no law. Besides, I don't trust this communist DOJ to prosecute anything fairly.

Based on what? It took 3 seconds, 3 seconds, for the cop to get off when Garner said he couldn’t breathe. It took approximately 3 mins for EMS to arrive. During the next 7 minutes, he was conscious, breathing, and responsive. He was breathing when put in the ambulance. He experienced cardiac arrest in the ambulance and expired.

How could the cops possibly have known that a morbidly obese man had chronic asthma? What could they have done differently? Tased him? That likely would have dropped him like a stone. How about beat him with a baton? How else do you expect them to arrest a suspect resisting, especially of his size?

It’s really quite amazing the focus is on how the guy was taken down rather than the fact he was breaking the law and resisting arrest...which by the way he was accustomed to.

The push to make our Police the bad guys is just another ploy of this administration to breed a lawless society. Make the police the enemy and the criminal the victim....

I did a search regarding the “slap”. Can’t find anything to corroborate your claim. Can you provide information regarding that?

Or, maybe you meant this: http://atlantadailyworld.com/2014/07/31/nyc-cop-who-killed-eric-garner-with-chokehold-once-slapped-black-mens-genitals/
