Trey Gowdy (R-SC) Says His Preferred Method of Stopping Obama is to Let John McCain Do It
RedState ^ | Erick Erickson

Now this is just pathetic.

Some of you turned Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)87% into the hero of the day because of his Benghazi investigation. He could do no wrong. What happens when you build a cult of personalty around any politician is then they can go BOHICA on you.

Bend over America. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)87% is now on record admitting he’s going to help shove President Obama’s amnesty plan right where you don’t want it.

(SNIP)

So, Hemmer asked Gowdy who he’d stop the President. Gowdy’s answer? He wants to let Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)Heritage ActionScorecardSen. John McCain52%Senate Republican Average64%See Full Scorecard52% handle it by tying up unrelated Presidential nominations in the Senate.

I never jumped on his wagon, I liked his rhetoric but something just didn’t smell right, Probably because he was a prosecutor, which to me says he is a Liar and Morally Bankrupt, I have a real problem with most people in authority, I Don’t Believe them EVER. Now we find out that smell is the same stench that surrounds Daryl Issa.

“Freepers warned early about Gowdy.”

Has anyone ever passed?

One thing I know for certain:

The Democrats in Gowdy’s district hate him nearly as much as some posters on this thread do.

The country is going down because of people like Gowdy; I hear ya.

No bullshitters. What? You think freepers shouldn't have attacked Romney for being the liberal that he was?

I was wrong about Gowdy. He is as corrupt as the rest of them.
Parading around like he is a conservative.

Primary his A$$ out in 2016.

True. To some extent that was my point. Big conclusion (toss Gowdy in the dumpster) and essentially no evidence to support that conclusion.

The country is going down because of people like Gowdy;

Feelings, like hate, that liberals like, aside.... What has Gowdy actually done? That is what matters. Not feelings.

Unfortunately I agree with you. It reminds me of professional wrestling. I bet he even rehearses his lines with the Democrats before he interrogates them.

Gowdy gave $2000 to Lindsey Graham when he pushed amnesty with Kennedy in 2007 and was still dating Schumer until 2010.

Steve King is the conservative on the issue. He trolled the heck out of Gowdy, Labrador, Issa, Goodlatte, Ted Poe and all the RINOs.

King alone was the 1 person on the judiciary opposing all this pandering to Dreamers and asking them to produce a plan that will last a lifetime of this republic not this generation.

http://therightscoop.com/mark-levin-calls-trey-gowdy-a-rino-says-he-should-put-border-first-over-dreamers/

“Did you hear his five minutes?” Gowdy asked a scrum of reporters about King’s statement. ”He took one line from my opening statement about a remedy that lasts a lifetime and lectures me about the rule of law. I was a prosecutor for 15 years.”
When asked how Republicans, particularly those in leadership, can reach out to members like King and implore them to keep inflamatory rhetoric at bay, Gowdy said flatly, “You can’t.”
And while King has said he has the muscle to sink any piecemeal immigration bill, Gowdy scoffed.
“The number of people who have a Steve King precise ideology on immigration isn’t going to be sufficient to sink anything.”
Meanwhile, Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, tweeted his disapproval as well: “Such inflammatory and hateful comments are out of touch with reality and do nothing to fix our broken system.”

Breitbart and Drudge reported on Mulvaney’s pandering. There’s also youtube of Mark Sanford doing the same.

King, Sessions and Vitter were the only ones from the start totally opposed to Boehner and Rubio.

Do you understand that supporting the rule sells us out?

He has been given a pass by the leadership, as long as he supports the rule, so he can talk big and do nothing positive for us.

You seem to think some should have 'passed' that didn't get through the gauntlet.

Why don't you list some of them? And their actual actions, not rhetoric.

The attacks on Gowdy are amazingly negative. He is about the only rep with the balls to tell Hillary face to face, I would have fired you immediatly for your handling of Benghazi.. Also, he told her she was incompetent...
